  • Take part in some form of physical recreation for six months
  • Complete a practice and qualifying expedition each involving four days and three nights

Expedition

For their qualifying expedition all eight students completed the Dart Rees Tramp in two separate groups. One group, despite it being November, had to cope with extremely challenging weather conditions.

Residential

  • Two of the groups attended a Rotary Leadership Course
  • Two were volunteer leaders at a YMCA youth camp
  • Two completed a 21 day Outward Bounds course
  • One did a week of volunteer work in a breeding stable
  • And one member had ten days on the Spirit of Adventure

Every year, up to 50 students start the programme in our school and it takes great commitment and perseverance to complete it to Gold Level over four years. These eight students have displayed great personal organisation and fully deserve this prestigious award that they have gained.

They have set a fine example to follow and made Mount Aspiring College very proud.
